These paintings are born from my struggle with depression and anxiety. They depict not the negative side, but the positives that can be found along the healing process.

In this collection I want to share with you how I fought to heal, how I created strength and found peace for myself. Peace in a world that is not perfect and where life has ups and downs. Where I learned to love myself.

Now I hope to inspire, give strength and confidence.

About the Artist

I'm Marieke Martens, a professional fine artist from the Flemish countryside of Belgium. For me, showing a sense of hope, strength and courage is a way to express myself and inspire others through my own life experiences. Using bright colors and a powerful viewpoint, I strive to bring peace and rest to the abstract chaos in my work. I want to show that while life always has its challenges, it's crucial how we stand in them.
