Refund policy

Section 1 - General

We have a return policy of 30 days, meaning that you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition as when you received it—unused and in its original packaging. You also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To initiate a return, you can contact us within the return period at contact@mariekefinearts.com.

Once your return request is approved, you will receive specific return instructions via email. These will include packaging guidelines, the return address, and information on any insurance requirements for the return shipment.

Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. A refund will be issued once your shipment arrives at our studio and we confirm that it is undamaged. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

For return shipments, we recommend using a trackable shipping service. We are not responsible for lost return shipments.

Any import duties, customs fees, or taxes applicable to the return shipment are the customer’s responsibility.

Section 2 - Exceptions / Non-returnable items

Certain types of items cannot be returned, such as original artworks, custom-made products (such as personalized artworks, sketches, or prints created specifically for you), and framed artworks. Please contact us if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on discounted items or gift cards.

Section 3 - Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have and, once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Section 4 - Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, so we can evaluate and resolve the issue.

For original artworks, we unfortunately cannot offer replacements, but we will attempt to restore the work as much as possible (if the damage allows for it). However, we cannot create reproductions of the original piece.

We may ask you to provide photos of the defective product as proof.

Section 5 - European Union 14-day cooling-off period (Right of withdrawal)

Notwithstanding the above, if the goods are being shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without justification. As stated above, your item must be in the same condition as when you received it—unused and in its original packaging. You also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day you (or a third party designated by you) physically receive the product.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us in writing at contact@mariekefinearts.com.

Original artworks must be returned with insurance. The customer is responsible for any damage or loss during return shipping if the item is not sent insured.

Section 6 - Exceptions to the right of withdrawal

The following items are not eligible for return:
Custom-made products: Personalized artworks, framing, or prints created specifically for you.
Used products: Items that have been clearly used or damaged.
Digital downloads: Art, prints, or gift cards delivered as digital files.

Section 7 - Refunds

We will notify you once we have received and inspected your return and inform you whether the refund has been approved. If approved, you will be automatically refunded within 10 business days via your original payment method. Please note that it may take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

Section 8 - Changes to the Return Policy

We reserve the right to modify this return policy. The return policy that applies is the one in effect at the time of your purchase.
