“Take that jump, dare to take it. What you will find is happiness. Happiness about achieving your aspirations, but also a realization. A realization that this jump was in fact not that frightening to make. A realization that you can do more than you think or dare to admit. This jump is your starting point towards the next and the next, and the next jumps, towards the freedom you are longing for. That freedom is maybe just a few jumps away, and every jump will become easier and easier to make. Gather your strength, take you time and one day you will no longer jump, but you will fly.”

✧ Inspiration: Aspiration was the third painting I made in this collection. My inspiration was "Taking new steps despite fear"

About this collection
I struggled with depression and anxiety for many years. In the beginning I didn't believe I could heal. I locked myself up in the house, too afraid to set one step out the door. I wanted to vanish from the world. I wanted life to become easier, but I didn't know how.
After a few years I took the step to go to therapy and from then on everything changed. In the next few years I learned to understand myself better and how to deal with depression and anxiety. I started to believe that I could heal and become better.
That is when I started to paint the person I believed I could be. In this collection I want to share with you how I fought to heal, how I created strength and found peace for myself. Peace in a world that isn’t perfect and where life has its ups and downs and where I learned to love myself.
Now I hope to inspire, give strength and confidence to others through this collection.
